Objectives:

Learn how to write a good review report of a research paper.

Course description:

We start by discussing the experiences of participants who received reports for their own papers. What did you like/appreciate most about these reports? Were they consistent? Did they help improve your paper? Etc.

Next, we discuss reports for papers. The course leader brings reports for a number of papers, but participants may also bring in reports that they received for their own papers. For every report to be discussed, all participants will get time to read it, after which we will discuss the positives and the negatives. After having discussed all reports for a specific paper, we will also compare them to see which is most useful – both from an author and from an editor perspective.

If there is time left, we may also discuss how to handle comments in order to maximize the chance to get a paper accepted.
